PLEASE DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE ANIMALS!!

In this season of hohoho-ing and falala-ing, I wanted to point out that there is a segment of our world who are getting ignored or worse, dumped.

Yep.
You heard me.
DUMPED!

I am talking about animals: those innocent creatures that can't help themselves. I have a blog pally over at Dog Rescuers Life who writes heart-warming (and wrenching!) articles about her life as a dog rescuer.

Today's post talks about an American Eskimo dog who is at her local kill shelter just waiting to be put down. Honestly, if I lived in Ohio, I would go and get that dog and keep him/her until I could find them a home!

So, during this time of giving and remembering, please don't forget the "least of those among us."

  5. I got the lab and the rat terrier from Orphans of the Storm up this way. They have some awesome animals still waiting. I need a farm.

Merry Christmas to you and mom (and all!)

  6. I hate that people think that animals are disposable. We have the greyhound racetrack in Wisconsin closing soon and they are scrambling to find homes for them or they will be put down. Makes me very sad.

  7. We ALWAYS get our pets from animal shelters. We've also volunteered and we donate food/money to the local shelter.
You'd be crazy to buy a pet from a store.
    Secondhand dogs/cats are the best....and frugal too.lol

  8. All of you are wonderful in that you care about animals! YAY for my awesome bloggy pals! All of our pets have been either dumped or were in bad situations. Our chihuahua was a rescue dog and she is "my dog." She does love her mama! Our Jack Russell Terrier was a stray that had gotten hit and she is "daddys girl." Boy, does she love hubby! All of our cats were abandoned and found their way to us. None of then are perfect, but we love them and they love us! :)

  9. A very timely reminder A.Marie. Animals are often forgotten this time of year.
I adopted my 2 kittens (now cats) from an animal shelter in Sydney, I couldn't imagine getting them from anywhere else.

Thanks for your lovely comment over at my blog, it was great to hear from you.

Hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas and a fabulous 2010....may all your dreams come true.

    Hugs
