Well, the Windy City dr. appointment went off without a hitch yesterday, and I was glad to get back to quiet little Small-Town. I just don't realize how un-chaotic it is here until I go there. That is a rude awakening.
Did any of you get in on any Cyber Monday deals? I went online last evening, and managed to get a few things, but nothing spectacular. What are those hamster/gerbil toys that everyone on the radio is talking about? Do any of you know??
At the Medical Center, where I was yesterday, they have a tea shop there called Argo Tea. I saw a sign, when we entered the building, that advertised their seasonal tea, White Peppermint Hot Chocolate, and I thought that it sounded yummy! So, when we were getting ready to leave, I told hubby that I wanted to stop and get a cup. I was absolutely freezing and thought that if I didn't like the flavor, at least the warmth of the beverage would warm me.
Let me tell you what, that was THE Best.Tea.Ever.....PERIOD!! Oh My Goodness...It was incredible! Warm, sweet, smooth and minty, topped with a wonderful thick, creamy and foamy topping....it was heavenly. Hubs, on the other hand, didn't share in my tea-inspired rapture. He proclaimed it "okay." Okay? Just Okay?! Honestly, the man has no taste! :)
I googled for some info on how to make this cup of deliciousness at my house, and I thought I'd share the recipe:
8 oz white chocolate, chopped
3 1/2 cups milk
6 hard peppermint candies, crushed fine
1/2 peppermint extract
2/3 cup whipping cream
Beat chilled cream with crushed mints until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate for about an hour. Meanwhile, heat milk to a simmer, them mix in chocolate. Whisk until chocolate is melted and smooth. Add mint extract and stir through. Pour into mugs and top with minty whipped cream.
Serves 4 (Or 1, if I have my way! LOL)
I like the new back ground!!
ReplyDeleteI'm having some problems find some of your older posts. It must be me. What is going on with the EEG?
Ever since I had a stroke-like episode (last October), the dr. is trying to determine what is going on. The EEG is supposed to find out if the temporal lobe (?) is in working order. I also had blood work done to see if my B-12 and thyroid levels are okay. Who knows...all of this started before I became a blogger, so I don't think I have ever mentioned it! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for telling me I was worried. Have you had any problems since last October? Please keep me posted! Cuz I wub you.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had another episode, but I have trouble with word recall, balance and some motor skill trouble with things like typing. I can type, but I make more mistakes and sometimes I stop, mid-type, because I can't remember what I was "saying."
ReplyDeleteBut, I'll keep you posted.
I wub you too, bloggy friend! :)
I checked out some of the websites looking for the last three things on my list, then promptly went out this morning and got them at Target for less. So, no Cyberdeals for me.
ReplyDeleteZhu Zhu Pets (I think that's right) are little battery operated gerbils and hamsters with toys, cages, hamster wheels, etc. I've never been able to find one in person; I've only seen pictures. They are supposed to be as fun as the real thing, but without the poop. LOL!
I'm big into Chai Tea this time of year. It is like pumpkin pie, except you drink it. Try one at Dunkin Donuts----YUM!
ReplyDeleteHi Annie! Yes, that's the name of them...Zhu Zhu Pets. When they were talking about it on the radio, they mentioned that a small company of 11 people make these, and that they are THE Hottest Toy of the Year. If sales go as predicted, this company will make millions! I wish I had thought of it! LOL
ReplyDeleteLin: Ooooh...I love the idea of a drinkable pumpkin pie and I have never tried one at Dunkin Donuts. If I make it to Big Town soon, I am going to go there and get one! YUM! :)
