TIS THE SEASON FOR....

...."Mom, I don't feel good..."

Definitely NOT what I wanted to hear this morning!

Ugh!

Teens are NOT supposed to get sick. I mean, didn't they get immune from colds/flu/yuck when they were younger? I mean, it seemed that every other day one of the two would be sick.

*Sigh*

So, today now, I have a teen daughter at home...I am going to make her stay in her room. I don't want to catch it!!

On the bright side of life, I am almost done with my tax paperwork. Today I am going to finally get my 2009 files moved to the "big cabinet" and FINALLY have room for the 2010 files in my under-the-desk drawers. That'll make me feel much, much better.

What are you all doing today?

*************

I'm posting this little "freebie" early, so you can be sure and mark your calendar!
This is what is on the Denny's website:

"We're doing it again. Come to Denny's for a Free Original Grand Slam®, Tuesday, February 9, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

And don't forget to visit Denny's for a Free Original Grand Slam® on your birthday."

Any of you have a Denny's Restaurant near you? You can also join Denny's Rewards for a chance to win a Free Grand Slam® every week for an entire year.

Boy, I sure wish we had one of these in or around small town! I love a good Denny's breakfast!! :)

  1. Darn. The closest Denny's is about 20 miles away. I wonder if IHOP would honor their deal? LOL Or maybe Bob Evans? :)

Hope your daughter feels better soon!

  2. Yeah! IHOP is even better than Denny's. Wouldn't that be sweet! LOL

But, of course, both of them are still too far away to just "hop on over" for breakfast! :)

  3. I've had more than my share of sick kids lately so my heart goes out to you!
Our taxes are done. We are getting 1740 from federal and 400(ish) from IL. We lost one of our deductions because Anna was 17. I can't remember what it is called. So last year we started having extra taken out to cover it. And we had that "make work pay" deduction that Den didn't take. I know that you aren't supposed to let Uncle Sam have a "free" loan but I would never be able to save that kind of money up. Life just gets in the way.
Have a great day. Well, the best that you can with a sick kid!

  4. I heard on the radio this morning that the first monday in February is the most popular day of the year to call off sick. I guess your kids got the memo. :)

  5. Sorry to here about your daughter :( ..... I just hope you don't get sick! We still don't have everything to do our taxes, but hubby says we should have everything by the end of the week so we can file! It's always fun getting a little extra money.
I will have to make sure I tell my mom about the Dennys, Last time they did this my mom and dad went twice. Once in the morning and again in the late afternoon. I know I couldn't believe it! I think I could only handle one grand slam in a day. Thanks for the info!
Hope you have a great week.
