THRIFTY THURSDAY

I have been cleaning out my little chest freezer that I keep in my laundry room/pantry, and as I got deeper into the depths of it, I couldn't believe all the frozen meat I was finding. I found a whole box of cheesy brats, some frozen chicken, 2 lbs of hamburger, and a 4lb bag of fish fillets. YUMMY!!!

So, hubby grilled the brats and we have been eating those, and I gave the chicken to my Mom. I cooked up the hamburger and turned it into taco meat, and my son and I have been enjoying grilled fish sandwiches for lunch. It is amazing how creative a person can get when they need to eat but don't want to spend alot of money at the store!

Then, I turned some leftover frozen veggies, roast beef, broth, and some squash into a yummy vegetable soup for my Mom and Dad. They declared it "delicious" and want to know when I am going to clean out my freezer again! LOL

What thrifty dishes have you come up with lately?

  1. We had a huge graduation party for the kids last Saturday and all we have eaten since then was leftovers! Didn't spend any money on food this week. And that is a good thing because most of it went to catching up.
    Have a great weekend!

  2. We just went on vacation so we emptied out the cabinets and the fridge before we left. It was good to eat up everything and clean it out.
