HEY!! WHO FLIPPED THE CALENDAR TO AUGUST?

This was me yesterday am...YAY...sunshine...warm breezes...

I cannot believe the change in the weather in Central IL.  Just last week I was freezing and now this week, I am broiling!!  It reached 93 degrees here yesterday....Ninety Three!

Since we haven't had the gradual warming up over the past month, yesterday's temp came as quite a shock to everyone.  Instead of drinking hot coffee to stay warm, I was scrounging through the freezer to find something cold, like Popsicles.  Even teen son thought they tasted pretty good after a day spent in a hot school building (nope, no A/C in our schools).

(This was me yesterday pm...hot...hot...hot)

That's why I was so happy to find this coupon that Kimberly (Retire with Coupons) posted on her blog.  Hubby and I are going to Big Town tomorrow, and guess who is going to visit Mickey D's!!   ;)

McDonald's has this cute promotion for their newest drinks and $1 off 1 McDonald's Frozen Strawberry Lemonade, Frappe or Real Fruit Smoothie printable coupon

Bada ba ba ba.....I'm lovin' it!!  ;)

On the subject of warm weather, this next coupon will definitely come in very handy, especially since hubby and teen son are going to be going to Florida, in a few weeks, with the high school band:

There is a Target coupon for $1 off an Aveeno item here. Sort by Beauty on the left to make it easier to find. You should be able to combine the two coupons at Target. (Excludes travel/trial sizes).

Before it gets too hot out, I am going to go outside and pull some more rhubarb from my garden and the neighbor's plot.  She isn't going to use her's, so she said that I could have all that I wanted....YAY!  I plan to make some yummy strawberry/rhubarb jam when I get enough of both.  I'll flash-freeze the rhubarb and put it into containers.  Then, when my strawberries are ready to pick, I'll make the jam!

  1. Ooh, strawberry-rhubarb was Grams' favorite when she was with us.

Congratulations on the summer weather! Ninety-three is a bit hot for me, but then thirty-seven is a bit cold, sooo....

    Hehe. Happy today!

  2. It was 99 degrees here and I didn't realize it until Meri came walking in. I'd made her walk home yesterday and she practically melted in the heat.

  3. The weather did a dramatic turnabout here too (Ontario). I wish it had stayed warm, but it dropped about 20 degrees overnight....
