CASCADE ACTION PACS/WALMART GIFT CARD GIVEAWAY

The other day, I was browsing through my emails and saw one that totally caught my eye.  It was from My Blog Spark and they wanted to know if I would be interested in hosting a review/giveaway from P&G through MyBlogSpark.  Of course I said YES!  Then I promptly forgot about it.

A few days later, after I got home from taking teen daughter to the Ortho Doctor, I spied a big ol' box outside my front door.  I ripped it open to find:

1.  A super nice Corningware baking dish with glass lid and plastic lid (for storing leftovers),
2.  Recipe for a blueberry cobbler,
3.  Pack of new Cascade Complete All-in-1 ActionPacs (for me),
4.  5 additional Cascade Complete All-in-1 ActionPacs (to giveaway), AND
5.  Gift card for $15.00 to offer as a giveaway.   

Wow, Wow, WOW!  I danced the happy dance as I unpacked everything and you'd have thought that Christmas had come again.  I absolutely love it when I forget about hosting a review/giveaway and then the box shows up!

Okay, so, the instructions called for me to make the cobbler (which was FANTASTIC, by the way...if you want the recipe, email me!), and instead of popping the dish into the dishwasher, which I normally do with the after-supper dishes, I took the 24-hour challenge and left it sitting on the counter -- the empty, crusty, messy, purple-stained baking dish -- overnight  -- without rinsing -- then washing it the next evening, after dinner, with the Cascade Complete.

Believe me, it was hard looking at that dirty, stained dish...at one point, I thought about shoving it in the oven so I wouldn't have to look at it, but then I figured I'd forget about it, so, that idea went out the window!  As soon as the 24 hours were up, I put that dirty dish in the dishwasher, popped one of those Cascade Complete All-in-1 ActionPacs in the detergent slot and waited for it to wash.

I am happy to report that the dish came out sparkling clean with no streaks!!  I am hooked!!!  Those little ActionPacs are amazing!!!!

That's my honest review of the product.  Was I happy with the results?  Yeppers!  Would I recommend this product to my family and friends?  You Bet!

PEST CONTROL AT HOME....THE ECOSMART WAY! GIVEAWAY!

Years ago, when I was a newbie gardener, I was clueless...absolutely clueless about plants and bugs...particularly the bugs.  I would spot a bug in the garden and tell hubs, "oooh...look...so pretty!"  He, on the other hand, would waste no time in squashing ...errrr...disposing of it. 

In time, I learned to be a little more hard-hearted towards bugs.  After all, I was putting in all of the hard work and they were reaping all the benefits!  However, there was a certain bug who put me in my place and I learned REAL QUICK to never, EVER squish dispose of it.  The certain bug in question is none other than the aptly named Stink Bug. 

(how can something so cute be so stinky?) 

There are do's and don'ts on how to get rid of stink bugs: 

• Don’t squash them. You’ll release their odor, which will actually attract more bugs.
• Don’t wait until you see active adults. If you spot stink bug eggs, kill them right away before the problem gets bigger.
• Do knock both the bugs themselves and egg clusters into soapy water.
• Do use an electric flyswatter to zap them.
• Do try a contact insecticide such as Carbaryl, Permethrins, or Sabadilla directly on the bugs you find in your garden. Just be aware of the potential risks involved in using these.
• Do caulk around doors and windows, install and repair screens, and seal pipes and ducts that enter crawlspaces to prevent stink bugs from entering your home.
