My mother called me, this morning, all excited about a time-and-step saving idea that she discovered. She said that I ought to put it on my blog. So, to all my readers, here is the VERY FIRST WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY TIP OF THE DAY by A.Marie's Mother, Earlene:
- To transport items to and from from a vehicle, use a storage container, or a rectangular laundry basket (personal favorite choice), to transfer items that need to either be hauled into your house, or out of your house.
- For those who are physically challenged, and do not want to lift a basket, there are carts with wheels and handles, that can either be pushed or pulled behind you.
I don't know about you, but I had one of those "Aha" moments when she was telling me about this. Why didn't I think of that? Anyway, I am grabbing one of my laundry baskets and filling it up with things that need to go to my vehicle. That'll save me so much time and energy when I do finally leave the house to run errands. (don't tell my Mom, but I have to e-m-p-t-y the laundry basket of clothes before I can use it! HA!) My Mom is so organized that her laundry baskets NEVER, EVER stay filled with clothes, either dirty or clean. But, that is for another day......
Awesome, mom! As someone with severe arthritis and bad hips needing replacement, that is one of my favorites. I have no garage and at times park up to a block away.
ReplyDeleteAnd another thing.....I want your mom to be a regular contributor to your blog! She raised an awesome daughter :-)
ReplyDeleteLet's call it Mom's Minutes or something :-)
Hey, great idea! She would LOVE that! Thank you for the nice thing you said about my mom. I'll tell her that you said she raised an awesome daughter! I know what she'll say...she'll say, "Yes, I did! I raised her just like my mother raised me!" (Gotta love mothers!:))
ReplyDeleteI like the idea for Mom's Minutes....you know what would be a great idea? I'll do a regular blog on tips our mother's gave us, and I'll have a my bloggy friends give their mother's tips. Wouldn't that be fun? When I get it set up, do you wanna be my first guest bloggy friend? :)
Oh gosh. I was raised by a mom who when something needed to be done we paid someone else to do it (lawn care, maid, etc even lots of going out to eat and funerals you sent a deli tray (pre-made) to the house).
ReplyDeleteCan I send Alex to her for a couple years? :-)
Wow! I don't know what I would have done with a Mom like that. My mom was raised on as farm, just like her mother, and she taught me how to do all the farm-type housewife "stuff." I was raised in the country and in town, so I had the best of both worlds. Now, I live in town, but I still do a lot of the things that I grew up with. Growing up, we did our laundry with a wringer washer. Now, I'm not young, but I'm not old (I'm 44), and all of my friends, when I was a teen, thought that this was sooooo cool. I didn't mind it, and if I had a place to do it, I would have a wringer washer!
ReplyDeleteOh, also, she laughed when I told her what you said about raising an awesome daughter (didn't I tell you so? :)) and she said that she'd love to have another Alex around! :)
ReplyDeleteI second the MOM MINUTES! You are so lucky to have her.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ALL! I'll keep her! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!!!!!!!!! Never in a million years would I expect our mother to be on the internet!!!! Tell mom she is lookin good:):) Tell her when I come home, homemade cinnamon rolls so good after the year at school I have had!!! See you soon, can't wait
ReplyDeleteAwwwww.....our mommy is lookin' good!!! I LOVE the "Mom's minutes" idea!!! Now if we could just get her to part with her cinnamon roll recipe! I'm telling you what...her rolls should be the ones being sold in malls all across America, instead of those "wanna-be-a-real-cinnamon-roll" cinnabon things.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day. Is it Friday YET???
