BOY + PAIN = GROUCH

Thanks so much to all of you who commented or e-mailed me about teen son. The good news is that all is going well and he should be able to start walking on it today! YIPPEE! He also gets to take the monster-bandage off of his knee, SHOWER (this is a huge deal....he did not like washing up at the sink yesterday!) , and then he can just put small bandages over the incisions.

Yesterday was NOT fun....NOT AT ALL. Thus the name of today's post! HA!

The weird thing about this whole knee problem of his is that the small tear isn't what was causing his knee-locking problem. It was the bands of scar tissue, from a previous tear, that were the culprits.

At some point in time, according to the doc, he tore the meniscus. There was some bleeding in that area, but the tear healed. But, scaring occurred. Everything was okay, until he incurred a slight tear in a different area. That tear, along with the bands of scar tissue, did not co-exist together in peaceful harmony!

Today should be a better day for him. He doesn't want to take anymore pain meds, because they make him all loopy and give him a hangover feeling. I told him that plenty of people around the world will be feeling just like him tomorrow morning! LOL

May all of you have a wonderful New Years Eve spent with family and friends. I bought a bottle of Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice (I am a total weenie when it comes to alcohol...I can't stand it!) and all of us will "toast the New Year" at around 9:30pm, because that is when I go to bed!
Did you know: Auld Lang Syne literally means "old long since," but a more English translation would be something like "long long ago" and the song is generally interpreted as a call to remember long standing friendships. (thanks bing.com!)

Let's Raise a Toast to All of Us to Ring in 2010 (I'll raise up my glass of Welch's!)

  2. Hope your son feels better soon!

We stayed up late last night, so I don't know if I'll make it to midnight tonight or not. We have a bottle of champagne leftover from LAST New Year's Eve (we're big drinkers, can't you tell?). I do like the taste of champagne, but this has been a migraine-y week for me already, so I may pass on it.

We know how to party around here, I tell ya!

    Have a Happy New Year.

I think we will ring in the New year with a glass of wine and a movie at home! I'm sure we won't make it to midnight here either! And we really don't go down to the strip. It gets crazy down there!
